Are You Ready?

As we prepared for Thanksgiving, I asked my wife why she seemed so stressed. She said the Holidays are overwhelming. All the food and house preparation for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas day at our house, the purchasing of presents for my family and hers, the wrapping, and putting up and taking down the tree and all the decorations. I love Christmas and I was a little shocked by her statements but I quickly did some self-analysis and realized how little I do. So since I am the ultimate fix it man I said let’s make a list so I can help and we immediately started working on it. I will help as well as the granddaughters will come over and help with the tree and decorations (hopefully taking down too), assign me who you want me to shop, start wrapping presents now and not two nights before Christmas (I am a good wrapper), and we came up with a few other ideas then I remembered something we had forgotten………………………….

JESUS!!!

Christmas is His day, His arrival day, the birth of the Savior and our salvation, God’s redemption day, and without His birth we are dead in our sins.

How quickly the world drowned out the most important event in history. Without His birth, there would be no cross.

Prayer…Lord, please slow us down so we can feel your presence this holiday season. Every morning I need time with you so I am not distracted by the world. Every time I am frustrated with all the busyness, remind to reflect on the birth of Jesus, my Lord and Savior.

How could I forget Him…He never forgets me!!!
